Success Story
I am a new wife, a part time fire fighter and working hard on achieving my goal of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist. I spend a great deal of my free time doing volunteer work and working with many civic organizations in my community.
Some of the charities and organizations that I volunteer with are the Sequatchie County Fair Association, The Historical Society, The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association, Race for the Cure, Children’s Miracle Network, St. Jude, American Arthritis Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Best Friends Animal Society, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and The Fraternal Order of Police. But the ones that mean the most to me are The Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Tennessee Community Education Council.
As a daughter of a police man who worked as a child abuse detective for many years he opened my eyes at a young age to many things. I learned that not everyone has things as easy as I and others do. I learned that a persons past and the things that they have done or have happen to them does not determine or equal their future. That no matter what happens you can over come anything you set your mind to and you can determine your own destiny.
I knew as a kid that I wanted to so something to help these children that my dad was helping out so I decided that I would devote my free time to help out at the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Children's Advocacy Center is dedicated to serving children who are victims of sexual and physical abuse through prevention, education, and intervention. I feel very honored to represent my state of Tennessee and looking forward to the many things that are in store for me this year!
