Miss Illinois U.S. Beauties Jordan

 Inspirational Quote

"Women go through hard things in life, that's a fact. But the ones who survive the pressure become diamonds who can cut through anything."

 Success Story

As a child who grew up living in poverty and struggled to attain a college education, I learned how to succeed as an independent woman. I realized that an education was my only way out and would later provide better opportunities for my children. It was difficult for me to obtain my college degree in four years because I had to pay for my entire education on my own. Instead of giving into poor circumstance, I overcame this hardship by attending college for a few semesters and then dropping out for a semester to work full time. It took me eight long years to finally receive my Bachelors degree at the age of 26. I will always remember that day as I finally walked across that stage at my graduation ceromony and was handed my Degree. The feeling was surreal. Looking back on my long journey through college, I was glad I was able to refrain from having children at a young age.  It would have made my struggles to attain an education even more difficult if I had had children to care for while trying to attend and pay for college.  I was later horrified when I discovered that so many women both here and abroad do not have control over their own fertility or protection because they lack knowledge or live in a poor area. Being a leader and a woman of action, I knew I had to do something. As Miss Illinois U.S. Beauties I am proud to say what truly makes me a success is the great strides I have made with my platform, Our Bodies, Our Futures. My mission is to educate women all over the world about their bodies and reproductive health and to ensure that they are provided with the tools they need in order to take control over their reproductive health and have healthy families. I have been published several times in “Celebrating the Success of the Modern Woman” Online Magazine which covers every aspect of my platform. I also connected with a women’s health clinic in Nebraska where each patient receives a personal letter from me, offering my condolences to the grieving single or joint parents. I have visited schools and mentored students on goal setting and working hard to get what you want out of life. I implement the nationally recognized CHARACTER COUNTS! into my motivational seminars to focus on core character development. My online blog has created a lot of buzz which prompted a New York Times journalist to follow me around for one year. His goal is to record my progress for a future editorial piece. As Miss U.S. Beauties I want to take an even stronger presence in the United States. I believe in my platform because it provides many positive effects and personal benefits for women of all ages. If chosen to be Miss U.S. Beauties, I promise to use my National title as a catalyst for my personal platform, Our Bodies, Our Futures.
